A cargo bike trailer is a load-carrying trailer that makes it possible to transport luggage, goods and equipment behind a bicycle. It can be practical for transporting groceries, camping equipment, parcels, tools, recreational equipment and more. Hamax Venture can be used both as a bike trailer and as a stroller.

Venture comes with a cargo platform, frame, wheels, bicycle arm, bike hitch, safety flag, support stand, wheel guards and equipment for securing the load. It also includes a movable luggage divider, four frame hooks, elastic straps and a weather-resistant cargo cover.

The cargo bag, cargo rack set, high cargo rack, additional bike hitch and 12 mm rear axle are available as accessories.

Venture can be used to transport groceries, parcels, sports equipment, camping equipment, tools and other items. The load must remain within the weight limit, be distributed evenly and secured so that it cannot slide, fall off or come into contact with the wheels. Local regulations may impose additional requirements when the load is large or extends beyond the trailer.

Venture Cargo can carry slightly more than 50 kg, but the exact load capacity depends on the trailer’s own weight. The combined weight of the trailer and load must not exceed 60 kg. Always follow the weight limits stated in the user manual.

The maximum load on top of the cargo racks is 15 kg. These 15 kg are included in the trailer’s total load capacity of 50 kg and are not an additional capacity. Most heavy items should be placed low and centrally on the cargo platform for the best possible stability.

The flat cargo area is approximately 60 cm long and 41 cm wide. These measurements refer to the flat part of the cargo area. Due to the shape of the trailer and frame, the total available space may vary depending on the shape of the item being transported.

The trailer measures approximately 86 × 57 × 37 cm without the bicycle arm. Its minimum storage dimensions are approximately 86 × 53.5 × 37 cm. The bicycle arm and wheels can be removed, making the trailer easier to transport and store.

Venture weighs 8.3 kg, and Venture+ weighs 9.3 kg, including the bicycle arm. The weight of any cargo bag, cargo racks and other accessories is additional and must be included as part of the permitted total weight when the trailer is loaded.

Venture has compact pneumatic wheels measuring approximately 12 inches. Check the tyre pressure before use and inflate the tyres according to the pressure indicated on the tyre itself. Correct tyre pressure improves rolling efficiency, stability and service life.

Distribute the load evenly and secure it using the included straps, hooks or other suitable tie-downs. Check that nothing can slide, fall off or come into contact with the wheels. Loose ends from straps and covers must be secured. Large or unusually shaped items may require additional straps and other measures to comply with local road safety regulations.

Place heavy items low and as close as possible to the centre above the wheel axle. Avoid placing all the weight at the very front or rear. A stable and even weight distribution improves handling and keeps the load on the bicycle arm within the permitted range.

No, assembling the Venture Cargo is mostly tool-free. If your bike does not have a quick-release on the wheel axle, you will need a wrench. Everything else is included, and the user manual provides step-by-step instructions.

The four hooks can be moved along the frame slots and used as attachment points for the elastic strap. Position the hooks so that the strap holds the load down and prevents it from moving. Lock the hooks by turning them in the slot. Always check that the hooks are securely fastened and that the strap cannot come into contact with the wheels.

The slots make it possible to move and attach hooks, the luggage divider and approved Venture accessories as needed. This makes the trailer flexible for different types of loads. Only use accessories and attachment solutions approved by Hamax, and do not modify the frame.

The cargo rack set consists of two low racks that make it easier to transport longer items and build upwards. The racks are attached to the universal slots on the inside of the aluminium frame. They can be repositioned as needed and can carry a combined load of up to 15 kg on top of the racks.

The high cargo rack provides additional support for tall loads and can be combined with other Venture racks. The package contains one high rack. Combine one high and one low rack for long items, or use two high racks to support and secure tall loads.

The cargo rack set contains two low racks, while the high cargo rack is sold individually. The low racks are well suited for long items. The high rack provides more support for tall loads and can be combined with a low rack or an additional high rack.

The Hamax Venture has several attachment points for straps and bungees, which are included. Small items can be secured with the dedicated cargo bag, and for taller or longer loads you can use the luggage rack (rails set). For heavy loads, place the weight directly over the axle for best balance. When transporting large items, use extra straps over the top – the high rails set provides additional stability and flexibility.

Yes, the walking mode makes Venture practical for shopping and transporting items on foot. You can cycle to the shop, disconnect the trailer from the bicycle and use the bicycle arm as a handle. Make sure the load is stable, and use the support stand when the trailer is parked.

Mount the bike hitch on the left-hand side of the bicycle’s rear axle, then click the bicycle arm nto the hitch. Always wrap the safety strap around the chainstay or seatstay and secure it before use. Pull on the arm to check that the connection is locked, and lower the bicycle arm fully before attaching it to the bicycle.

Yes, Venture is designed so that most parts can be replaced. Use the Hamax spare parts overview or contact a local retailer to find the correct part. Provide the product name, article number and any other requested product information.

Yes, the wheels have a quick-release mechanism and can be removed without extensive disassembly. Press the release button, pull the wheel out, and store the parts in a dry and clean place. After reinstalling the wheel, always pull on it without pressing the button to check that it is securely locked.

Clean the trailer with mild soap and water, and regularly inspect the wheels, tyres, frame, screws, hitch and reflectors. Do not use solvents. Keep the axles clean, check the tyre pressure and retighten the cargo rack fasteners when necessary. Only use spare parts supplied or recommended by Hamax.

Store the trailer in a dry, well-ventilated place, preferably indoors. The wheels and bicycle arm can be removed to reduce the amount of storage space required. Venture+ with a plywood platform should be stored under cover. If the trailer has been wet, allow all parts to dry completely before storage to prevent moisture and damage.

The bag has a waterproof top pocket and waterproof zippers, but the entire bag should not be considered fully waterproof. In heavy rain, pack electronics and other moisture-sensitive items in an additional waterproof bag. Allow the Cargo bag to dry completely before storing it.

The Cargo bag has a capacity of 55 litres and can be expanded to 88 litres. It can be extended by 12 cm using a zipper and features an internal mesh pocket, front pockets, handles and a detachable shoulder strap. It weighs 1.18 kg, and this weight must be included in the trailer’s permitted load capacity.

The kickstand stabilises the trolley when it is undocked and needs to be loaded or parked. Lift the front and bring the kickstand down until it locks. Before cycling, the kickstand should always be folded all the way up into the cycling position.

Yes, Venture is approved in accordance with the European standard EN 15918 for bicycle trailers. The trailer has an aluminium frame, wheel guards, front and rear reflectors, and reflective strips on the wheels. The approval requires the trailer to be used in accordance with the user manual and within the specified weight limits.

The recommended speed is 10 km/h, and the maximum speed is 25 km/h. Ride significantly slower when cornering, going downhill, and on uneven or slippery surfaces. A heavy load makes the bicycle slower to steer and increases the braking distance.

An additional bike hitch is practical if Venture will be used with two or more bicycles. This allows the trailer to be moved between the bicycles without having to remove and reinstall the hitch each time. Each bicycle must still be suitable for towing the trailer and have the correct axle solution.

Yes, Venture and Venture+ use the Hamax bike hitch with rotation lock, which is also compatible with several other newer Hamax trailers. Yes, many bicycles with a 12 mm thru-axle can be used with Hamax’s universal 12 mm rear axle. The axle comes with several spacers and threaded bolts for different bicycle frames. The movable luggage divider helps keep the load stable and can be positioned according to the size of the items you are transporting. Insert the ends into the universal slots on the inside of the aluminium frame. Then slide the divider into the desired position and lock it by turning the tube in the centre.

No, Venture is only approved for transporting cargo. The trailer does not have seats, harnesses or safety features for passengers. Use an approved Hamax child bike trailer or child bike seat for children, and a Hamax dog bike trailer for dogs.

Choose Venture if you prioritise a maintenance-free platform, and Venture+ if you prefer the appearance of plywood. Both models are suitable for the same transport tasks and are compatible with the same Venture accessories.

The main difference is the material used for the cargo platform. Venture has a durable, maintenance-free HDPE platform, while Venture+ has an FSC-certified plywood platform that gives it a more premium appearance.
